Bianca Barbosa Chizzolini es una antropóloga brasileña (máster y actualmente doctoranda) que se dedica al estudio de los textiles y los procesos sociales de que forman parte.
En 2017 vivió un año en Oaxaca y estudió diferentes técnicas de bordado de los Valles Centrales. Actualmente desarrolla una investigación en Oaxaca y sus alrededores sobre los circuitos de producción, uso y circulación de servilletas bordadas a mano utilizadas en mercados populares y fiestas zapotecas de los Valles Centrales. Como parte de su metodología de investigación, desarrolla etnografías con artesanas y produce piezas textiles bordadas en diálogo con los temas y relaciones creados durante la investigación. El textil es a la vez su tema de escritura y su soporte de investigación.

Bianca Barbosa Chizzolini is a Brazilian anthropologist (with a master’s degree and currently a PhD candidacy) who is dedicated to the study of textiles and the social processes they are part of.
In 2017 she lived in Oaxaca for a year and studied different embroidery techniques from the Central Valleys. She is currently developing research in and around Oaxaca on the circuits of production, use and circulation of hand-embroidered servilletas (tortilla cloths) used in popular markets and Zapotec festivities in the Valles Centrales. As part of her research methodology, she develops ethnographies with craftswomen and produces embroidered textile pieces in dialogue with the themes and relationships created during the research. Textiles are both her writing subject and her research support.
