Born in Okinawa, a small southern island in Japan which is famous for its arts and crafts. I started my career as a florist and owned the flower shop for several years. After learning about family history, found out that my Grandmother was a master weaver of Miyako Jofu. Her story peaked my interest in learning this art. Because of my experience and love for plants as a florist, I started learning about plants fiber, such as bananas, ramie, also growing cotton. After relocating to the US 11 years ago, joined a local guild, continuing to learn this craft.
