Kim Nemeth has a BA in Art History fro the College of Wooster and is a self-taught weaver and fiber artist. She first learned and honed her craft by creating functional items such as scarves, cowls and kitchen towels. In 2016, her focus shifted to wall hangings and installations. An artist residency at the Icelandic Textile Center in Blonduos, Iceland, led to a solo show at the Red Star Barn in Walla Walla then a joint show at Foundry Vineyards. In 2018 and 2019, she participated in Renegade Craft Shows in Portland and San Francisco as a guest Installation Artist. Currently she is an artist in residence at Studio 202 in downtown Walla Walla. Her weaving studio is located at The Cotton Wool, a modern folk craft gallery & studio she opened in the fall of 2021. Her goal of the space is to showcase local makers rooted in traditional crafts and to have a place to collaborate with fellow makers.
