Bobbie Tilkens'-Fisher is a modern tapestry weaver and educator based in Thomaston, Maine and Philadelphia. She creates large wall hangings using bold color, abstract designs and sumptuous wools. Her work challenges the notion of weaving as a 2-dimensional art form, while bending many of the "rules" of this traditional craft.
Bobbie has taught at The Art Institute of Philadelphia, The Camden School District’s Adult Ed Program, The Fiber College of Maine, Haystack School of Craft, The Farnsworth Museum of Art and The Center for Maine Contemporary Art.
She currently offers weaving workshops and retreats in her Thomaston Studio.
